An Essay on "The Achievement I'm Proud of" in 300 words for Std. 8

Achievements! Oh, everybody has achievements. If you call medals or certificates as achievements then I have about 50-60 of them. But the one that I am proud of, it's certainly not a piece of metal. Put in one line, my true success is that I have written a book. Is it that simple ? No, of course not, I can still find about a hundred mistakes in it.
The thing I all as an achievement is the look on the faces of my friends, family and all those who mocked at me when I told them my decision to write a book. I have always kept surprising them with innovative ( and sometimes weird ) ideas but this was my ace move. My family had earlier thought that writing a book was yet another of his never-ending silly ideas and he'll forget it in a few hours. But no, hours turned into days into weeks and eventually into months when I finally completed the manuscript. To you it's just a sentence but it took a lot of sincere effort. I mailed the manuscript to the publisher I had finally short-listed from hundreds. He accepted it ( it's quite rare when he doesn't ) and replied with a contract which required the sign of my parents. That's why and when I showed the mail to my dad and I have cursed a thousand times for not carrying a camera at that moment, that's how priceless the look on his face was. After that incident months went by with the completion of several formalities and finally during the summer vacation the printing was done and the author's copies arrived. My dad winked towards me while my mother shot a questioning look towards us. After the element of surprise  was over, soon her WhatsApp and Facebook dp's showed my books and  calls from relatives started pouring in.
The reactions were so amazing and unique that some even surprised me even though I was prepared for it. Well, you must be thinking 'Oh... such a happy ending' but no, none of you thought about the hard work required for such ending's. This I call as my biggest achievement up till now.
  •  Element of surprise - a thing or fact which is unknown to the other person
